Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about 101 Newport blvd C2 4F by Rechelle Nunag, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and finding a five-star condo unit in this part of Pasay seemed almost too good to be true. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come from places that don’t sound like your typical resort.

This place sits right on Newport Boulevard, which means you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters around here. I’m talking walking distance to Resorts World Manila – and I mean actual walking distance, not that “just a quick 20-minute hike” nonsense some places try to sell you. The airport’s so close you can practically wave at the planes, but honestly, the soundproofing is surprisingly solid. I was expecting to be jolted awake by every departing flight, but the unit’s on the 4th floor and faces away from the worst of it. The host, Rechelle, actually knows her stuff about keeping guests comfortable – she’s got blackout curtains that work and a white noise machine tucked away in the closet if you need it.

What really got me was how this feels like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen‘s fully stocked (I mean really stocked – there’s even a rice cooker and proper Filipino coffee), and the living area has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. The building itself is well-maintained, with decent security and elevators that actually work consistently – trust me, that’s not always a given around here. Parking can get a bit tight during peak hours, but there’s always something available if you’re patient. The real winner though is the location – you’ve got SM Mall of Asia just down the road, the bay area for those sunset walks, and honestly some of the best late-night food spots in Manila within a quick grab ride. I discovered this amazing sisig place just two blocks away that I never would have found staying at one of those big chain hotels in Makati. If you’re flying in or out of NAIA and want something that feels more authentic than your typical airport hotel – but with all the comfort and cleanliness you’d expect from a top-rated place – this spot really delivers.

  The apartment was very close to NAIA terminal 3, so very comfortable for us as we had our flight the day after.
  Beds were comfortable; we have also had some refreshments in the room (water, coffee, chocolate).
  The communication with the host was excellent, friendly and very responsive.
  
  What could be improved: The room windows are not soundproof, but this is basically the case in every place I have been in the Philippines, including new condos
