Condo with Balcony at Makati SM Jazz Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Condo with Balcony at Makati SM Jazz, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, right? But after spending a few nights there, I actually get why they call it that. This four-star spot sits right at Metropolitan Avenue and N. Garcia, and you know what? That corner location is actually pretty brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood rhythm.

The thing about staying here is that you’re genuinely living like a local for a few days – it’s got that condo feel where you’re not just passing through, you’re settling in. The balcony they mention in the name isn’t just marketing fluff either; mine overlooked this interesting mix of Makati’s business side and residential pockets that you don’t always see from typical hotel windows. I mean, you’ll catch glimpses of people heading to work in the morning, street vendors setting up, the whole daily dance that makes this part of Manila feel alive. The SM Jazz connection makes sense too – you’re basically a stone’s throw from SM Makati, which honestly saved me multiple times when I needed everything from phone chargers to decent coffee at odd hours.

What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re right in the thick of things. I was expecting typical city noise, but the building’s positioned in a way that buffers most of the street sounds. The apartment-style setup means you get a proper kitchen – not just a mini-fridge and coffee maker – which was clutch for breakfast and late-night snacks. The staff runs things pretty smoothly too; check-in was straightforward, and they actually know the area well enough to give you real directions, not just tourist trap recommendations. I will say the elevators can get a bit slow during peak hours, but that’s pretty standard for this type of building. The rating of 8.1 feels about right – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the fundamentals and gives you that authentic Manila living experience that’s hard to find in conventional hotels. If you’re the type who likes having space to spread out and wants to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary resident, this place actually delivers on that promise.

  • our stay was fine, only the cockroach is the problem – Joel from United Kingdom – July 26, 2025 (8/10)

    Clean and easy access

What could be improved: There is cockroach

  • Wonderful – Saliva from Philippines – July 18, 2025 (9/10)

Owner is accommodating, all transactions are seamless. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The unit is also cute full with furry love. Walking distance from my office. Will definitely book here again 😊

  • The host was very attentive security guards very polite – Evangeline from Japan – May 13, 2025 (8/10)

    Location and staff

    What could be improved: None

  • Good – Marek from Czech Republic – January 28, 2025 (7/10)

Good stay in SM Jazz, however, you need to count with going through facility security first – everything explained while booking, so we counted with it. If you want to use the pools, need to sign up in advance for vouchers and pay accordingly. Good location to the airport and city for exploration, safe neighborhood.

What could be improved: Room for 3 people extremely small, recommend for couple. But we knew this in advance.

  • Wonderful – 🇵🇭🇪🇸🎄🌟 from Philippines – December 22, 2024 (9/10)

Thank you again. See you next time.

  • Convenient short term stay in SM Jazz – Borisz from Germany – December 2, 2024 (9/10)

Convenient location as part of SM Jazz. Nice pool area, even for sitting and chilling. Good communication with the hosts, very helpful. Easy check-in and checkout experience. The wifi was good.

What could be improved: Getting the essentials (shower gel, etc) would have been nice as we were on a short trip and didn't want to pack all that. We did receive 4 bottles of small water, but that's not enough for an overnight stay, we needed to buy a big (gallon of water) – perhaps it would be nice if that was provided. Even though there was Netflix on the TV, it didn't seem to work (got stuck loading any movie we tried.) Bit these are just smaller things. Overall it was a good stay.

  • Perfect location and satisfactory apartment for a reasonable price – Andrea from Netherlands – November 11, 2024 (7/10)

    The central location in Manila

What could be improved: The furnishings of the apartament, the building itself and the paid swimming pool is no fun at all as only swimming is allowed and nothing else.

  • Good equipped apartment with cockroaches – Oleksandr from Ukraine – May 12, 2024 (7/10)

There is a pleasant view from the balcony. It was pretty easy to check in. There were small compliments from the host. I have almost everything I need for a comfortable stay.

What could be improved: There are cockroaches in the apartment. There are lots of dust on surfaces in the apartment. In my opinion, there are too much cats(toys/pictures) in the apartment. Some stuff need renovation.

  • Warm and cozy! – Ma from Philippines – May 8, 2024 (9/10)

The host was so accommodating and very responsive. My son and friends felt safe in this unit. It was very cozy and clean.

What could be improved: 3pm check in seems to be late

  • Good – Jose from Philippines – January 30, 2024 (7/10)

Very close (5 minutes' walk) to the Spanish Consulate
