You know what caught me off guard about Family Staycation, Greenbelt Hamilton, Isabel’s Makati Rooms? The name makes it sound like three different places, but it’s actually just one really well-positioned apartment-style hotel tucked right into the Greenbelt Hamilton Tower. I mean, once you figure out you’re looking for the tower on Legaspi Street in the heart of Makati‘s business district, everything clicks into place.

This four-star setup is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Manila rather than just visiting. The rooms have that apartment vibe – proper kitchenettes, living areas where you can actually spread out, and windows that give you a real sense of the city’s rhythm. What I love is how you’re literally walking distance from all the Greenbelt malls, which sounds touristy but is actually brilliant for practical stuff like grabbing groceries or finding a decent coffee at odd hours. The Ayala Museum is right there too, and you’ve got the makings of both the financial district bustle during weekdays and a more relaxed shopping scene on weekends.

The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense feel that newer Manila developments do well – good elevators, decent security, and the kind of lobby that doesn’t try too hard to impress. Honestly, the 8.1 rating makes sense because while it’s not going to wow you with flashy amenities, it delivers on the basics really well. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, so they’ll point you toward the better restaurants in Greenbelt 3 or tell you which entrance to use when it’s raining (and trust me, when those afternoon downpours hit, you’ll want to know). Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak times, but that’s Makati for you – everything’s compact and busy. The trade-off is that you’re genuinely in the middle of everything, from the MRT stations to some of the city’s better international restaurants, without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble. If you’re doing business in the area or just want a base that lets you explore Manila like someone who actually lives here, this place gets the balance right.

  The location! The unit is nice and good for up to 3 people and maube a child. And the security guards and staff at the reception are nice. Clean enough, basic stuff provided.

  The property is a spacious modern one-bedroom condo in a residential block. The management is obviously used to short term lets as they have a dedicated sign-in system at the reception in the lobby. Once we found the condo, we found the door unlocked (and left it the same way when we left) so we never met any owner or agent. The condo had a bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet, and a double bed in the lounge, as well as two settees and a dining table and chairs. There was a well-equipped kitchen with fridge, kettle, microwave and a washing machine.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, the plug on the microwave did not fit the socket!
  We couldn't find any programmes on the TV. There were no instructions.
  A very minor problem: My partner stupidly bought a bottle of wine with a cork instead of one with a screw cap but there was no corkscrew!
