HomeBase Apartment Hotel Overview

You know what caught me off guard about HomeBase Apartment Hotel? I was expecting another generic extended-stay place, but this four-star spot on East Capitol Drive actually gets the apartment-hotel concept right. When I walked into my unit, it felt like someone’s well-designed condo rather than a sterile hotel room – there’s a proper kitchen with full-sized appliances, not those tiny hotel fridges that barely fit a sandwich, and the living area has enough space to actually spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

The location in Pasig is honestly perfect if you need to be near the business districts but want to avoid the Manila chaos. You’re close enough to Ortigas that you can walk to meetings if you don’t mind a 15-minute stroll, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise at night. I mean, East Capitol Drive itself gets busy during rush hour, but the hotel sits back from the main road just enough. What really sold me on the place was how the staff – and I’m talking about the front desk team, not just management – actually knew the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to BGC for dinner, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward a taxi; he suggested taking the jeepney to the MRT station because traffic was horrible that evening, then gave me the exact fare and walking directions from the other end.

The apartment-style setup makes such a difference for longer stays. I was there for almost two weeks, and having a washing machine in the unit and space to cook breakfast saved me both money and sanity. The building itself feels secure without being fortress-like – you need a key card for the elevators, but it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in some locked-down compound. Honestly, the only thing that bugged me was the water pressure in the shower, which was fine but not great, and sometimes the WiFi got spotty in the evenings when everyone was streaming Netflix. But those are minor gripes when you’re getting this much space and functionality. The housekeeping team was actually flexible about when they’d come by, which matters when you’re working from your room and can’t have people vacuuming during video calls. If you’re doing business in Metro Manila and need more than just a bed for the night, this place gets it right in ways that a lot of the bigger hotel chains completely miss.

Hotels near me in Manila offer convenient access to Rizal Park, where guests can easily walk to Intramuros historic district, Manila Cathedral, and authentic Filipino restaurants serving traditional cuisine.

  • A Surprisingly Spacious and Well-Equipped Stay at Homebase Apartment Hotel – Laurea from Philippines – July 6, 2025 (10/10)

I recently had an overnight stay at Homebase Apartment Hotel in Kapitolyo for my birthday celebration, and I was thoroughly impressed with several aspects of the room. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of both the room and the bathroom. The thoughtful design included abundant storage space, even incorporating storage within the bed's frame and a convenient pull-out sofa.

The bathroom was a particular highlight, featuring a wonderful rain shower that provided a refreshing experience, along with a large mirror. The room also came equipped with essential amenities like an electric kettle, mini-fridge, microwave, and a hair dryer, which added to the comfort and convenience of the stay. A really nice touch was the passcode doorknob for the room, meaning we didn't have to worry about losing any keys.

Beyond the room, the hotel offers Wi-Fi in all areas, which was very convenient. They also have a great common area where you can get free coffee, cook, and dine.

Unfortunately, the AC unit broke down during our stay. However, the staff's response was exceptional. Despite being fully booked and unable to offer a room change, they proactively provided two excellent options: either finding us an alternative place to stay or offering a full refund for the inconvenience. We chose not to move, as we were only staying overnight and primarily needed the room for sleeping. The staff quickly provided two electric fans, which made the situation perfectly manageable, and we still had a great time.

The staff were truly lovely and incredibly accommodating, further enhancing our positive experience. The hotel's location is also a major plus – it's quiet, and the neighborhood boasts a multitude of dining options within walking distance. For slightly longer distances, tricycles are readily available. We were so relaxed and comfortable that we didn't even think to take photos of the room, which I kind of regret!

What could be improved: The AC broke right before we checked in, which I don't really blame the staff for.

  • Very Good – Jillian from Philippines – June 18, 2025 (8/10)

    Location

What could be improved: I left my luggage in the admin office but when J got back, it was locked. It was difficult to contact the management. It took some time before someone opened it.

  • It truly felt like a home away from – Ezekiel from Philippines – June 7, 2025 (9/10)

It felt so clean and comfy to stay. I really felt at home and we all enjoyed ourselves and wished we could stay longer. It was clean and well maintained and the staff are super helpful and accommodating.

I loved it so much that I’m saving this as my go-to-place if ever I need to stay in the area.

What could be improved: The only thing that challenged me was the parking. It is quite a tight fit but I had a helpful staff help us get in and out. It’s definitely not a turn off as the overwhelming pros outweigh this one con by a mile. Just be sure to pay attention to the parking dimensions so your car fits.

  • A stylish stay with great views, close to Uptown and BGC by Grab—without the high price tag of eithe – Genevieve from Australia – June 3, 2025 (9/10)

I love the minimalist design of this place, especially the airy shared kitchen and dining area with a beautiful view of Uptown. It’s conveniently located—just a short Grab ride to Uptown without the hefty Uptown price tag, and within walking distance of eclectic coffee shops.
Having previously stayed in BGC (near High Street) and Uptown—where I used to live in One Serendra—I’ve experienced different accommodations in the area. But now, whenever I visit the Philippines, this will be my go-to stay for an entire month, even if I’m traveling outside Manila. It offers great value for long-term stays and a perfect balance of convenience and affordability

    What could be improved: nothing

  • Wonderful – José from Philippines – May 1, 2025 (9/10)

Good location, have a lot of cafes nearby. Clean and cute industrial rooms, cold aircon and good facilities

What could be improved: Tricky to check in and park

  • Wonderful – Maria from Philippines – January 11, 2025 (9/10)

    the coffee was really good

  • Wonderful – Angel from Philippines – November 6, 2024 (9/10)

    Convenience, Staff, and secured parking

What could be improved: No solid division between sleeping area and bathroom, just curtains

  • Wonderful – Kimber from Philippines – November 3, 2024 (9/10)

It has all the necessities for our trip. Fresh linens, toiletries, towels, slippers, microwave, e-kettle, mini fridge, kitchen utensils, common kitchen area where you can borrow more kitchen tools and i didn't expect the TV to be huge, we enjoyed watching Netflix. The brutalist/minimalist modern design was on point, the shower was my favorite. The place was simple and very clean. We'll definitely come back here for our future trip.

What could be improved: A rod/hook for steaming clothes, but other than that it was great.

  • Very Good – Winnie from Philippines – October 21, 2024 (8/10)

    The place is clean

What could be improved: The toilet is too high. Its not comfortable

  • Looks like I’m checking-in from another country – Denver from Philippines – June 15, 2024 (10/10)

    There’s a lot:
    – the minimalist design
    – free parking
    – ease of checking-in; very responsive owner/admin of this booking
    – amenities
    – location. There’s a black scoop cafe nearby. And mcdonald’s is about 10min walk from the hotel
    – working elevator
    – common area

What could be improved: There are least two:
    – since the design is minimalist, you can hear the water flush gushing into the pipes. Don’t worry there are no leaks
    – plastic/sintra board dividing the bathroom. For private people, this can be uncomfortable especially when you’re doing #2 😭😂🤣
