Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels around Manila, but Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first walk into this five-star property, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve stepped into something a bit more refined than your typical Manila hotel scene. The lobby has this understated Japanese elegance that feels authentic, not like someone just slapped some bamboo and called it a day.
What really gets me about this place is how it sits right in the heart of Newport City without feeling chaotic – you know how Manila can get pretty intense with the traffic and noise. But here on Portwood Street, it’s actually peaceful, which is wild considering you’re literally surrounded by casinos, restaurants, and entertainment venues. I mean, you can walk to Resorts World Manila in about three minutes, but when you’re back in your room, you’d never know it. The soundproofing is genuinely impressive – I barely heard the planes from NAIA despite being so close to the airport, which honestly makes this spot perfect if you’ve got an early flight or you’re just arriving jet-lagged and need real sleep.
The rooms themselves feel spacious in a way that’s rare for Manila hotels, and there’s this attention to detail that screams Japanese hospitality. The bathroom marble actually stays cool even in Manila’s heat, the bed is firm but not rock-hard, and – this might sound silly – but the curtains block out light completely, which saved me during a bout of brutal jet lag. What I really appreciate is how the staff seems to anticipate what you need without being pushy about it. Like, they’ll remember you prefer your coffee a certain way after just one visit to the restaurant, that sort of thing. The location is pretty brilliant too if you think about it – you’ve got easy access to the airport obviously, but you’re also well-positioned to explore both the business districts and the more tourist-heavy areas without getting stuck in the worst of Manila’s legendary traffic. Honestly, with a 9.1 rating, this place has earned its reputation, and after spending time here, I get why people keep coming back.
The luxury concierge service in Manila offers personalized access to traditional Filipino cooking classes, fine dining experiences, and VIP cultural events in this vibrant capital of the Philippines.

Reviews of Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts
Great stay and staff. – Attyrachelajm from Philippines – September 11, 2025 (10/10)
I checked in late so I was given a late checkout by Ken who greatly assisted me from check in, to parking tickets, and even during check-out. I tried the in room dining and the Adobo and salmon miso was so good. Loved the wooden tub of course.

An Oasis of Japanese Elegance in Manila: A Perfect Stay at Hotel Okura Manila – Bruno from Italy – August 17, 2025 (10/10)
I stayed at Hotel Okura Manila at the end of July and had an outstanding experience. The location is perfect—just steps from NAIA Terminal 3 and directly connected to Newport Mall and the casino. The hotel itself is elegant, with a stunning lobby and beautifully designed rooms.
My Hinoki-yu Room with a cypress bathtub was unique and very relaxing. Comfort is excellent: spacious bathroom, Nespresso, smart TV, and strong Wi-Fi. Facilities like the rooftop pool, fitness center, and sauna make the stay even more enjoyable.
Dining was also a highlight—refined Japanese cuisine at Yamazato, a relaxing breakfast at Yawaragi, and a great atmosphere at the Sora rooftop bar.
A perfect blend of Japanese hospitality and modern luxury. Highly recommended, and I will definitely return!Exceptional – Carl from United States – August 16, 2025 (10/10)
Incredible hospitality, first rate location and amazing food. I loved the gym as well. 11th floor bar and observation point was terrific. Most importantly, the staff took great care to provide a beautiful decoration for us upon our arrival.
