First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Layan-Dy Shore Staycation, I’ll be honest — the name had me curious, and the location delivered exactly what it promised. This four-star property sits right on MOA Sunset Avenue, which means you’re basically in the heart of one of Manila’s most happening areas. The private parking was a relief too, because let’s face it, finding a decent spot around Mall of Asia can be a nightmare during peak hours.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what really struck me about staying here? The proximity to everything that matters in Pasay. I mean, you’re literally walking distance from SM Mall of Asia — one of the largest shopping centers in Asia — and the famous MOA Eye ferris wheel is right there. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: this stretch of Sunset Avenue actually offers some incredible bay views, especially during golden hour. The area gets busy with families and couples in the evenings, which explains why recent guests rated the location so highly at 8.4 out of 10.

The Room Experience

The room itself felt more spacious than I expected for a Manila staycation spot. What I appreciated most was how they’ve designed the space to actually feel like a retreat from the city buzz, even though you’re right in the middle of it all. The windows offer decent views — some rooms catch glimpses of Manila Bay, which is honestly pretty spectacular during sunset. The amenities are solid without being flashy, and everything worked as it should, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case.

Dining & Amenities

While there isn’t an on-site restaurant, this actually works in your favor given the location. You’re surrounded by dining options — from the food courts at MOA to some really good local spots along Roxas Boulevard. I found myself grabbing coffee at nearby cafes in the morning and exploring different restaurants each night. The hotel staff was pretty helpful with recommendations too, and they seemed to know which places were worth the walk and which ones to skip.

Why Guests Love It

After spending a few days here, I get why couples rate this place so highly — it’s got that sweet spot of being close to entertainment and shopping without feeling like you’re sleeping in a mall. The 8.7 guest rating makes sense when you consider the combination of location, decent amenities, and the fact that you can actually park your car without stress. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Manila, but it delivers on what most travelers actually need: a comfortable base to explore the area with easy access to Manila Bay’s attractions and nightlife.
