The location is pretty brilliant if you think about it. You’re literally at the corner of Ayala and Makati Avenue, so you can walk to Greenbelt or Glorietta without dealing with Manila traffic (trust me, this matters more than you might think). I’ve stayed at other five-star places in Manila, but this one gets the balance right between being accessible and feeling like an escape. The rooms on higher floors give you this sweeping view of the city that’s particularly stunning at sunset – you can actually see all the way to Manila Bay on clear days, which isn’t as common as you’d hope given the pollution.

What I really appreciate is how they handle the little things. The elevators are fast, which sounds trivial until you’re running late for a meeting on the 40th floor somewhere. The pool area on the sixth floor is this unexpected oasis – completely shielded from the street noise below, with decent loungers that aren’t constantly occupied (at least during weekdays). The breakfast spread at Circles is honestly impressive, though it gets pretty busy around 8 AM when all the business travelers descend. I’d suggest going earlier if you can manage it. The staff genuinely seems to remember you after a day or two, which is refreshing in a city where service can feel pretty impersonal. Honestly, the concierge team knows Manila inside and out – they’ve saved me from more than one transportation disaster and always seem to have insider tips about which restaurants are worth the hassle. The spa is solid too, nothing groundbreaking but perfect for unwinding after dealing with Manila’s intensity all day.
